Teams are fast signing up for the 2019 Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge with over 70 teams now on the starting blocks. We hope they are all training hard. There are veterans of previous Charity Challenges plus lots of new faces as well. Some teams have put great effort into coming up with some creative names. Here are some of our favourites…….
Baking Brad Part Deux – a Super Tough team from Bradgate Bakery making a second appearance. Simon Large, Michael Spencer, Danny Lovegrove & Carl Udall are raising money for Wishes 4 Kids, a fantastic local charity that raises money to grant wishes for children and youngsters in Leicester & Leicestershire, who are life limited, terminally ill,or have experienced life-changing physical or emotional traumas.
Broadband Of Brothers (Tough)– from Samworth Brothers Group IT. Will Rudkin, Alex Moran, Dave Middlemiss & Nick Kent are raising money for the Leicestershire branch of Age UK.
Don’t Go Bacon My Heart (Tough) – from Walkers Deli & Sausage. Fran Barros, Matt Wrisdale, Harry Dempster & Lina Kachra are raising money for Heartlink Children’s Charity.
This local Leicestershire charity supports children with heart defects.
Lettuce Entertain You (Super Tough) – from Melton Foods. Kasia Wilson, Amelia Lewis, Joe Blanchard and James Outram are raising money for Rainbows Hospice. Rainbows is a place where life limited children and their families can find care and support. Melton Foods chose three local charities for the bakery staff to vote on for Charity of the year and Rainbows won the vote and has become its nominated charity for 2018 and 2019.
The Carbdashians (Super Tough) – from Brand and Business Development, Samworth Brothers. Alastair Johns, Alice Carline, Jon Studdert-Kennedy & Charlotte Wilkinson
have chosen to support FareShare. Through working with them with the Honest Crust brand, the team have built a strong relationship with everyone at FareShare and have seen the good work they do.
The Malty Marauders (Tough) – Soreen’s Emma Gibson, Dan Craddock, Sarah Roberts & Nathaniel Shears are fundraising for C.R.Y – Cardiac Risk in the Young having lost a colleague back in 2015 to an un-diagnosed cardiac condition.
